Whether you're new to cruising or have booked and still have some queries, we've put together a selection of some of the more popular questions and answers below.

Can I afford a cruise holiday?

Cruise holidays are actually good value for money. When working out the cost you should consider the cruise price includes all your meals, accommodation, daytime excursions and evening's entertainment. It averages out less than 80 euros per day on some of our cheaper cruises. With many packages offering all-inclusive drinks or buy one cruise, get another half price, the price is actually quite reasonable. With river cruises or luxury cruises you can expect to receive a lot more extras on top.

When’s the best time for a cruise holiday?

Generally all year round. For Mediterranean & European cruises, the summer months tend to be better as the weather is good. With the Irish winter being what it is, Caribbean cruises & Dubai cruises are more popular in the winter. Many ships transfer to destinations to take advantage of the warm weather.

Will I get sea sick?

It's highly unlikely. Modern ships are equipped with stabiliser systems and generally set to sea in calmer waters. If sea sickness is a concern, then a river cruisemight be a better option.

What will my cabin be like?

Cabin come in all shapes and sizes and vary upon your budget. But all cruise cabins are equipped with TV, telephones, hairdryers, en-suite bathrooms and many have balconies with a sea view. The luxury cabins are generally more spacious and come with a lounge area allowing you to indulge that little bit more.

Will I be bored?

In a nutshell, no. There is so much to do on board. Choose from a wide range of activities including children's activities, quizzes, competitons, sports facilities, lectures, bars, cinemas, theatres, discos, cabaret and so much more. Not to mention the opportunity to explore a wide variety of new and exciting cities and countries. If that seems like too much, then you might simply prefer to relax.

Am I too old/young for cruise holidays?

Cruise holidays are ideal for all ages. No longer the preserve of the rich and elderly, a cruise appeals to all ages and all walks of life. The best advice is to try one, and you will realise what you've been missing.

Are cruise holidays good for families?

Cruises are ideal for a family. Cruises are very popular with familes with all cruise ships offering their own kids clubs. Your kids will love the fun packed programmes with lots of activities overseen by professional cruise staff.

Can I get off the cruise ship?

Most cruises around the Mediterranean & Caribbean have a port of call each day. Choose one of the many shore excursions or take this time to explore on your own. If you prefer more time on land, you might like to try a cruise and stay holiday.
